At Anne Sexton Pilates, our 4 in 1 plan is specifically designed with the intention of improving your overall health and wellness – we offer a diet plan that is tailored towards the improvement and upkeep of your autoimmune and gut health. Combined with our offer of unlimited Pilates and BMI and postural analyses, it’s an offer that simply can’t be missed!
The incredible complexity of the gut and its importance to the body’s overall health is often overlooked and underappreciated; there is a reason that scientists call our guts the second brain! The term ‘gut microbiome‘ refers specifically to the microorganisms living in our intestines. While some microorganisms can be harmful to a persons health, many are beneficial and even necessary for a healthy body. The diversification of the gut microbiome is affected by the foods we eat, and a higher microbial diversity in the gut is considered beneficial for overall health. Dr. E.M. Quigley’s study on gut bacteria in the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology found that having a wide variety of good bacteria in the gut can enhance the function of the immune system, help combat obesity, improve brain health, and improve symptoms of depression.
Unfortunately, many aspects of modern life can prove damaging to our gut microbiome. This damage can affect other aspects of our health, and manifests in symptoms that prove all too common! Here are some of the most common symptoms:
- Upset stomach (gas, bloating, constipation, etc)
- Weight changes
- Fatigue or poor sleep habits
- Skin problems, such as acne or eczema
- Auto-immune conditions
- Food intolerances
- High sugar diets (which can often manifest in sugar cravings and increased inflammation in the body)
If you recognise any of these symptoms in yourself, trying out a gut-healthy diet could prove highly beneficial for you. The best thing you can do to improve your overall gut health is to eat a diet rich in foods that will benefit the growth of the good bacteria in the gut, and to avoid certain foods that have been linked with increased inflammation and may cause harm to the gut healthy bacteria.
Such a big change to the diet can seem extremely daunting! Our 4 in 1 plan aims to offer as much support as possible in helping you to heal your gut! The plan consists of four key components:
- Body analysis: This includes BMI and circumference measurements.
- Postural analysis: This includes a full analysis of your posture and body movement, and should highlight any issues that you may wish to work on
- Unlimited Pilates: Four weeks of unlimited Pilates will supplement your journey to gut health, and will help with the overall health and wellness of your body.
- Full Healthy Gut Nutritional Plan: This is a diet plan that is specifically tailored to feature predominately foods that will promote gut health and good gut bacteria. The plan offers a list of foods to eat and foods to avoid, and includes a special meal plan with recipes for if you need some help with planning your meals!
As an added benefit, you will be added to our 4 in 1 Facebook group. In this group we share recipes and updates, and share how we’re getting on with the plan! It can be difficult at first to make such radical changes to the diet, which is why the Facebook group can be helpful in the support it offers.
